iGnite Spotlight: Austin Leader Jill Watts

Fitness Background

I ran track in high school, and have always been passionate about exercise and fitness being a part of my life. I think it is so important for a balanced lifestyle for your mind, body and spirit.

What do you love most about being an iGnite leader?

I love bringing women together into a safe and trusting environment where they have time for and nurture there bodies and minds, and become their best selves. Knowing that I am a part of that and hopefully making a difference in their lives while creating lasting relationships is so fulfilling to me.

What are your favorite exercises?

My favorite exercises are plank, alternating reaches and squat presses. I feel that our core is our powerhouse and that is where our strength and balance comes from. You need to have a strong core as your foundation for any exercise and most daily activities. For this reason you need to do core exercises daily!

What have you learned from your iGnite experience?

How important our relationships are with the women in our lives. It is so important to have people that our like family to support you and be there for us to lean on if we need to. Also just having a connection with other women through fitness is essential for health and happiness.

What are some of your passions?

Some of my passions are surfing, at the beach and on the lake even though I don’t get to do that much of the time…that is something I strive to get to do more in my future and get better at. I also love planning dinners, dance parties and events with friends. This is essential to my happiness and having FUN, which is a core value of mine. Travel is my other passion, from the planning, researching and exploring phase, until the plane ride home, I love all aspects of travel. I was a travel agent with my own travel company before becoming an iGnite leader. I only did it for about 2 years but it is something I would love to pursue later in life. I would love to combine fitness and travel and that is one of my goals, not exactly sure what it will look like :)

I have 2 that are very different… Maroon 5 and Zac Brown Band. I have travelled to concerts for both of those bands and will most definitely do that again.

What does a typical week of “working out” look like for you?

Practicing and doing my class workouts, yoga or pilates once a week, working out with my husband once a week and most recently have started doing cycling/spin classes with my daughter once a week.
