Member Spotlight: Meet San Diego Member, Michele Quanstrom!

iGnite IS our members! They make us what we are, which is why we LOVE spotlighting them! Meet San Diego Member, Michele Quanstrom! Like all of our members, you'll almost never see Michele without a smile on her face...and something also amazing and unique about her is she makes THE MOST DELICIOUS HOMEMADE BREAD! In fact, she made a business out of it called Love Yum Breads...and yes we do LOVE her Yum Breads! You find Michele's mouthwatering breads via her Instagram (@loveyumbreads) or Facebook (Loveyumbreads). And so, meet Michele :-)

Where do you live and how do you iGnite & since when?

I live in San Diego in the neighborhood of Del Sur where I iGnite and have been a member since 2018!

Where did you grow up?

Born a CA girl, but spent most of my childhood in Nevada before coming back to CA!

How did you get into iGnite?

Neissa used to be my neighbor so I heard about the classes from her as well as from other ladies in the neighborhood.

If you were going to invite a friend along to iGnite, what would you say to encourage them to come?

Come try out a class! Everyone of all levels is welcome and the group of ladies are kind, down-to-earth and fun, plus it's a great workout in the fresh air. My favorite thing about iGnite is the positivity and support people offer to each other. Zero pretenses.

What word to you mutter while doing burpees?

"Go at your own pace so you don't get a dizzy head."

Who's your biggest motivator and what do they do for you?

That would be my husband as cheerleader. I can always count on him to see the good in me. I'm also incredibly lucky with my closest friends who inspire and motivate me!

What do you usually do right after class? Go home to check on our new(ish) puppy Marcie.

What's been your favorite job and do you still do it?

Is this a trick question? Haha. My favorite job is being a mom to my two boys. It sounds cliche I know, but you can't get around the fact that it's a tough-as-heck job with incredible moments of joy. I also used to work for Southwest Airlines and while that was hard work, it was thrilling too. The travel benefits were crazy exciting!

What's your favorite word? Yay!

What class do you most look forward to and why?

I love the Friday class because it's a nice bookend to the week. We work, but also reward ourselves with good stretching which feels so good!

Favorite exercise song?

Hmmm. That changes. My two most recent Apple downloads were This Must Be The Place by the Talking Heads and Blinding Lights by The Weekend. You can never go wrong with Bill Withers and Lovely Day either!

What's something about you that would surprise us?

I finished my Masters in history with honors in San Francisco a week before giving birth to my first son. I loved being a student, curiosities explored, and could probably be a lifelong student if time and life allowed.

What's saving you right now?

Fitness. It truly is my mental health. That and nature. And friends and family. Oh and my animals, two cats and the puppy.

Favorite local and not local social media accounts to follow?

@northcountytileandstone, @surfandcitygranola are a couple of local good ones.

Anything Tahoe I love to follow such as @tahoenorth.

Lots of good design ones like @puresaltinteriors.

A fun one I found recently for fashion is @parisiensinparis

What do you love most about iGnite?

I adore the people who lead and teach at iGnite. I love the variety of classes and that they are outdoors. Plus it's an environment that is always welcoming.
