Roots
I was born and raised in San Diego. The first city my parents lived in when my mom moved here from the Philippines was Savannah, Georgia which is where I got my name. I grew up in East County SD, so it’s been a new adventure exploring North County since it almost feels like I moved away from home (although it’s only about 45 minutes away).
Family Life
I’ve been married to my husband Ryan for almost 7 years and we have two girls we absolutely adore, Ella (6) and Avery (4). He is an Emergency Physician and works a variety of days, nights, holidays, and weekends and his schedule changes weekly. I try my best to work around that schedule and to create routine for our family despite his chaotic hours. I’ve learned the importance of finding balance between spending time with family, your husband, friends and planning family activities on days off so there’s always something fun to look forward to in the midst of a hectic week.
Work Life
After doing beside nursing for nearly 10 years, I made a change and started a new career in Medical Aesthetics. I work at Holden Timeless Beauty MedSpa and provide services in Botox and dermal fillers. I’m enjoying my new career and love how happy clients are when they see their results! I’m also looking forward to offering in home mobile services too!
Best Advice You’ve Ever Been Given
Be present and in the moment” - Over the Summer I was more intentional about hanging out after iGnite workouts instead of rushing off to do errands and I really got to connect with other iGnite members which has added to the overall experience. I try to remind myself to slow down a bit and be in the moment.
In my free time you'll find me...
Trying new restaurants in North Park or Little Italy with my hubby, attempting to ride a skateboard on the boardwalk in Mission Beach to keep up with my family, hiking Torrey Pines, enjoying nature with my girls, treating myself to a latte with a fancy leaf, looking up new home décor ideas online, relaxing at a Korean Spa (if you haven’t tried it it’s a must), replanting succulents in our backyard or playing with makeup at Ulta.
Favorite Color
Black…whether it’s clothing or home décor I just love it!
Your Favorite Book & Why?
I recently read “The Fringe Hours: making time for you” by Jessica N. Turner. It’s about finding balance and how our time is valuable and you are in control. She states “you will never find time for anything, if you want time, you must make it by utilizing little pockets of time throughout your day that often goes unused”.
What are you looking forward to?
My next date night with my husband!
The biggest lesson I've learned from iGnite is....
I have learned that as a mom it’s important to prioritize self care and not feel guilty about it. This past year I decided to do just that and lost a little over 20lbs and it feels so great! I feel strong, healthy and happy!
Favorite concert or musician....
Seeing Britney Spears front row in Las Vegas was the BEST time ever!
Favorite t.v. show and why?
This is Us…I don’t think that needs an explanation!
Something people may not know about you?
I used to work as a freelance makeup artist for a cosmetic company and worked different events at Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Saks and Neiman Marcus in SD and OC. It was such a fun time! I even did Dree Brees’ “makeup” for a local magazine.
