Sharing What We Love With the Friends We Love

One of the most magical moments from our Renew Years Retreat was something simple, heartfelt, and joyfully unexpected: our Favorite Things Exchange.

As Valentine’s Day approaches, I keep thinking about how meaningful it felt to gather in community, share laughter, and give gifts that speak to our favorite comforts, indulgences, and everyday joys. It wasn’t about the presents themselves — it was about the meaning behind them and the people who chose them.

We all brought something we love, a book that changed our perspective, a tea that makes slow mornings better, a candle that smells like comfort, a tool that sparks creativity and we each took turns telling the story behind our favorite thing. Why it matters to us. How it makes our days better. Why we wanted someone else to experience it too.

What unfolded was far more than an exchange of gifts. It was an exchange of stories, laughter, connection, and appreciation.

Whether you’re looking for a thoughtful gift or simply want to treat yourself, these are the tried and true favorites from our community.

Here’s what made the moment so special:

Stories matter
Each item came with a story — a memory, a ritual, a reason it lights up someone’s world. Hearing why something was treasured made every gift feel personal and meaningful.

We saw each other more deeply
We weren’t just trading items. We were sharing parts of our lives, our rhythms, our comforts. It gave us a glimpse into what nurtures each heart in the room.

Joy grew in the sharing
There’s something powerful about giving someone something you truly love — and watching their face light up when they understand why it matters to you.
