Member Spotlight: Meet Austin Member, Marion Forbes!

iGnite IS our members! They make us what we are, which is why we LOVE spotlighting them! Meet Marion! - also known as Dr. Marion - one of the most unflappable folks you'll ever meet! We love Marion's dedication to class - often showing up in scrubs after working all night! She's calm, she's kind and she's we're so glad to introduce you to her!

Where do you live and how do you iGnite? I live in Austin and iGnite in person primarily – Rollingwood Park, Pease Park, Kathleen’s garage, sometimes Mt. Bonnell and the lake when I get a chance.

Most Favorite Word?

Grace. It’s something I need to give and to receive regularly. It’s God’s goodness in a word, and it’s something the world needs more of.

What's been your favorite job and do you still do it?

I love being a pediatrician! Best job ever. It’s challenging, joyful and deeply satisfying. Kids are amazing in their honesty, diversity, and infectious joy! Their parents challenge me to work harder, communicate better, and demonstrate patience and support beyond what I think I can give.

Who's your biggest motivator and what do they do for you?

I have a couple of friends who really encourage me. One is a Med school friend who listens, laughs, and prays with and for me. Another is an Austin friend from my days in Community Bible study- she listens, laughs, shared wisdom and prays a lot too! And my kids motivate me to be better at most everything.

What class do you most look forward to and why?

I love yoga with Paula or Amy for the stretched, calm way I feel when it’s over. But I also like the exhausted pleasure of finishing a Kathleen or Neissa class too!

Right after class, I usually…

In the car I wipe myself down with a Dude Wipe (cheaper than the “girl” ones and smell great)! I shower when I get home, eat a muffin or scone (love those carbs!), drink water, then check email and the rest of life stuff.

What do you love most about iGnite?

The wonderful women I meet and get to know, with the way my body feels a close second.
