Member Spotlight: Meet Austin Member, Amanda Thompson
iGnite IS our members. They make us what we are, which is why we spotlighting them! Meet Amanda from Austin. One of the many things we love about Amanda is her faith and love for people. During iGnite or outside of iGnite, she is always lifting others up!
Where’d you grow up? I grew up in Abilene, Texas, went to Texas A&M, lived in Santa Monica for 12 years before moving back to Austin.
What has been your favorite job and do you still do it? Currently wife and Mother! I get to be a wife to Blake and a mother to Jack, Katherine and Jane. My job before this was a healthcare consultant and I loved, it too!!
Most Favorite Word: Beloved. I love how we’re called this as children of God!
What class do you most look forward to and why? Power Up! I love lifting heavy weights and doing pull-up burpees
What word do you mutter while doing burpees? I count each step to make sure I don’t forget what number I’m on, don’t want to do too many!! (to the ground-1, push up-1, jump up -1, and so on!)
What do you usually do right after you workout? During the school year I rush home to homeschool my 8 year old in 2nd grade!
What do you love most about iGnite? The positive attitude that everyone has! And I love that it is faith-based and we talk about the power of our Amazing God while working out!!!!
What's your favorite workout song? Any playlist Kathleen plays – she always knows when we need something motivating.
What's saving you right now?
I love working out in person with iGnite! It feels so good to see people's smiles and sweat and hard work right next to you. This is priceless right now. And on a more serious note - reading my Life Principles Daily Bible - we all need God's Word each and every day!
Who’s your biggest motivator or cheerleader and what do they do for you? My husband – he’s always telling me how great iGnite is for me! He sees my energy levels up, my body changing for the better, and my mood optimistic (especially after working out), and the friends I’ve made are so uplifting!
