The Amazing, Exceptional and Remarkable Mom You Are!

Point to Ponder:

What unique mom-qualities or characteristics do you possess? If you aren't a mom yet, what special attributes and strengths do you acquire as a result of your amazing mom and/or mom-influences?

A few years ago we, iGnite, celebrated Mother's Day with a beautiful pre-Mother's Day luncheon at Abel's on the Lake. During our time together each person had the opportunity to share a heartfelt and admirable quality or characteristic of their mom and/or mom-influences. As you would expect, it was an inspiring, emotional and endearing time together. In fact, the words in the picture above as well as the bulleted remarks below were words used to describe our moms.

  • She never yelled

  • She befriended everyone

  • She never met a stranger

  • She sacrificed so much for us

  • She invited strangers to meals

  • She taught me to live life

  • She was devoted to our family

  • She was the best hugger

  • She taught me to branch out and try new things

  • Her love for the Lord can be seen by the way she loves others

  • She always made me feel the best and most special

  • She taught me to embrace change and never get stuck in a rut

  • She faced adversity with a smile and taught me to find good in everyone

  • She taught me to surround myself with girlfriends

  • She wanted to be the best wife, mom and Christian

  • She always managed to give me one-on-one time

  • She doesn’t take herself seriously

  • She gave me my strength

  • She taught me to use my strengths for the greater good

  • She taught me the importance of helping others and volunteering

While it was easy to see and share the beautiful attributes of other moms, being able to confidently identify and claim our own remarkable mom-strengths and gifts isn't quite as easy, though it's necessary that we do.

As we lead up to Mother's Day, I certainly encourage you to be inspired and motivated by the endearing words used to describe other moms. Personally, I am in awe of "she never yelled" and can definitely aspire to have more discipline and self-control. However, I know I have other redeeming mom-gifts and strengths, and I encourage you to acknowledge and claim the amazing qualities and characteristics you uniquely possess, as they make you the exceptional mom you are!

Oh and don't forget, IN APPRECIATION OF YOU...To express our deep gratitude for the iGnite community, this Mother's Day we're planning to celebrate, spoil, and pamper YOU. Please join us for a catered lunch and some special time with your iGnite friends. Indulge us... LET US LOVE ON YOU! Rebecca Young, everyone's BMF (Best Mom Friend), is opening up her beautiful home to host this Mother's Day weekend kick-off luncheon. In addition to the gifts of a delicious meal and the company of dear friends, there will be prizes, goodies, and give-aways, for all who attend. Action Item:

Be inspired and motivated by the endearing words used to describe other moms but most importantly acknowledge and claim the amazing qualities and characteristics you uniquely possess, as they make you the exceptional mom you are!
