    We Are Family

Despite founding and creating iGnite and having a very clear vision and mission, I am the worst at accurately describing who we are. For over simplification purposes I can say we are a holistic women’s fitness community, but in my opinion that doesn’t come close to describing us. For years I lamented over an "elevator pitch" (you know, the one I'm supposed to be able to say in 30 seconds or less), but have been wildly unsuccessful at creating one. Fortunately we've been able

    Why Having Fun is Non-Negotiable

Point to Ponder: Are you laughing and having enough fun? Personally, I don’t think there’s anything better than laughing and having fun. Maybe it’s because my mom was and still is the best at it! She taught my sister and I how to laugh at everything, especially ourselves. As a single mom I know she had plenty to cry about, but we never saw anything beyond a mother who was full of joy, laughter and always smiling. Later in life she let us know about the days when she was so do

Roots: I was born in Los Angeles and grew up in Murrieta, CA. I went to college at USD. Post college I moved to Chicago and lived there for seven years. I never thought I would live in Chicago that long, but I absolutely loved it (other than the winters!) I missed San Diego so much though and moved back six years ago. Family Life: My husband Terence and I met in Chicago and it didn't take much convincing to move to San Diego after a year of dating. He proposed to me in Paris

Are You Taking Yourself Too Seriously?

Are You Taking Yourself Too Seriously?

Point to Ponder: Do you take yourself too seriously? Have you ever felt like you were carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders? A time when you felt as though everyone was counting on you and while you were doing everything humanly possible, you just couldn’t get it all done. The result was feeling you had disappointed yourself, inconvenienced others or revealed that you were actually human and couldn’t pull rabbits out of a hat. A few weeks ago I found myself exper

    Keep Things Fun

Point to Ponder: Where in your life are you having fun and where in you life do you need to have more fun? During July, while leading two back-to-back iGnite Escapes in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and having the time of my life, I had an epiphany: throughout the past several months my 'fun' core value was violated. This probably sounds whacky, so let me explain. Several years ago through the professional coaching of iGnite member Martha Lynn Mangum, I learned my core values. They a
