    Lessons from the Rock

Point to Ponder: What “thing” in your life have you pretended to or attempted to be committed to? While on the Smoky Mountain iGnite Escape in North Carolina, I rock climbed for the very first time. I anticipated the experience would be challenging, scary and exhilarating (which it was, plus much more!), however I didn’t expect that I would walk away with life wisdom. While rock climbing, a special bond is formed between the climber and belayer. The belayer is the climber’s a

    Sweat Today, Smile Tomorrow

Point to Ponder: Do you sweat at least once per day? Whether iGniting in Austin or San Diego, sweating is definitely something I am experiencing in mass quantities. After every class (with the exception of swimming), I am hot and glowing from all of that good sweat. If you recently peaked at the extended forecast, the whole country is experiencing higher than normal temps, which means you’ll likely shine bright wherever you go. If you don’t have water to submerge yourself

    Mirror Mirror OFF the Wall

Point to Ponder: Do you find yourself overly concerned or critical of your appearance and what others think? Unfortunately, I cannot keep an organized office to save my life. I have all of the necessities that would allow me to do so; however, despite my ongoing efforts to make the office my official and inspirational space to work, I can’t seem to make it happen! Instead, my office has officially spilled over into the closest room — our formal dining area. As a result of my

    Always Grateful

Point to Ponder: Who or what do you need to be grateful for? With family coming to visit for the Thanksgiving holiday, I hired my friend’s housekeeper to clean our home. We haven’t had our house professionally cleaned since June and it was in desperate need of a good scrubbing. Erica, my friend’s housekeeper, let me know that she was going to get a friend to help her, and to insure that the house got as clean as possible, she was going to take her time. From 7:45 a.m – 5:30 p

Why Gratitude is the Best (and Only) Option

Point to Ponder: Who or what are you grateful for? This summer, during our Banff, Canada iGnite Escape, each evening we found ourselves relaxing in the outdoor hot tub that overlooked the mountains while playing a get-to-know-you card game. One card with a random question would be chosen and each of us would have an opportunity to answer it. The questions were innocent, fun, thought-provoking and a great way to learn more about one another. A few examples of the questions wer

Roots: I have lived all over Texas, but I’m so thankful to have spent the last 32 years in Austin. Family Life: Blessed to be married to an amazing man for almost 35 years. Lew and I have 3 children; Wesley, Anne and Elizabeth. Two weddings this year and now we have two more wonderful children; Dora Lee and Nick. Roots: I am originally from Brownwood, Texas (think Friday Night Lights setting). I’ve lived in Austin for a little over 5 years now. HOOK EM! Family Life: I’m as single as a Pringle. No significant other or kids, but a couple of loving parents and a pretty rad 13 year old sister. Work Life: I am currently working as an executive assistant, and I babysit on the side. Oh, and house sit. The biggest lesson I’ve learned through my iGnite experience… is that I am never alone.

    Gluten-Free Peanut Butter Protein Bars

We LOVE these protein bars. They are a delicious, filling, nutritious and balanced (great carbohydrate / fat / protein ratio) snack that is perfect whether after a workout or when you need a bite between meals. They can even be a great meal replacement if you double or triple (depending on gender and activity level) the serving size. Best of all, once you have your ingredients together they are quick and easy to make. We know you will love them as much as we do! Recommend
