Background
PSALM 19
1 The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
2 Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they display knowledge.
3 There is no speech or language
where their voice is not heard.
Outdoor exercise has nurtured and grown my spiritual life. When moving my body outside and under the blue skies I realize that life is bigger than me, my troubles are trivial and miracles are abundant. I feel alive as I breathe fresh air, experience the changing season and share space with squirrels, birds, butterflies, turtles and swans. My appreciation for the overflowing gifts that God daily provides expands. In addition, exercising in nature serves as a time of worship and prayer and always fills my spirit with joy and gratitude, leaving my mind wide open and clear of negative thoughts. I've realized that God isn't only waiting for me in church on a Sunday morning, but His presence is everywhere and in everything. Receiving inspiration from nature as well as my Pastor from Riverbend Church, Dave Haney, my heart has been led to offer a complimentary/donation only Sunday morning yoga class on the dock of the Texas Rowing Center. Positive, fun and inspirational music will compliment our movement!
