“Enjoying success requires the ability to adapt. Only by being open to change will you have a true opportunity to get the most from your talent.” — Nolan Ryan

Action: Identify your current life state without judgement and modify the path to your goals.

Wouldn't it be pretty darn great if we never had to adapt or deal with change? Just imagine if we could freeze-frame the joy we experienced on the day we fell in love with our husband, got married, had children, accomplished a goal, or were easily able to slide into the jeans that were snug a month prior. But wait! None of these blissful moments could've occurred without change, therefore change is not our enemy after all.

Right, wrong, indifferent or delusional, I often find myself living and thinking in the past and always comparing the “current Neissa” to the “past Neissa”, even though life has changed and is different from six months ago. For example, I'm older, my husband is older, my parents are older, I'm working on getting pregnant sooner than later, I'm in a new journey with new responsibilities, and I've got new goals. With all of these obvious changes, why in the world would I try to compare my life today to my life of yesterday?

Luckily for us, the female body is VERY complex and our system is influenced by SO MUCH more than the male body. Our hormones are under constant change from aging children, aging parents, and our own aging, to new jobs, graduations, weddings, and grandchildren. Even when the changes are for the good, they can still be stressful and alter our hormones, which impacts how our body feels, how well we are able to drop a few pounds, our energy level, the way we sleep, the way our body recovers, and even our attitudes.

While I believe we should be motivated by past accomplishments, we should also be proud of our successes and relish the victories that brought us much joy. Press forward and pursue your goals and experience life to the fullest. Surround yourself today, tomorrow, and throughout our Journey with a bevy of Monarch-minded women that are positive, encouraging, and supportive. And with that support...

I DARE YOU to eliminate the ego, and openly, honestly, and without judgement, view your current life state and recognize the positive and negative changes and stress that have occurred.

I DOUBLE DARE YOU to not compare yourself or your life to others. Every single person has different DNA; therefore everyone must create a plan that is unique to them.

I DOUBLE DOG DARE YOU to adapt by modifying the path to your goal. Realize that what worked for you yesterday may not work for you today.

And I TRIPLE DOG DARE YOU to live a life of health, forward thinking, and abundance, and if it's cold enough, maybe to a frozen poll contest...
