Health, Abundance, Opportunity

Congratulations Janet!! She is the second place “Monarchs on the Move” winner! Janet persevered and got all eighteen holes punched. Her prize was a long sleeve iGnite shirt and fifty dollars of Monarch Money. We still have a third place prize to give away as well as prizes for anyone who gets all eighteen holes punched by the end of the Journey, so stay on the move!

Action: Continue to believe in your goals and dreams that you've written down and set your intentions on ALL you have: Health, Abundance, Opportunity galore!!
The always delicious, football-filled and relaxing Thanksgiving holiday has ended just in time for our first real winter experience of Journey XIII. The timing is perfect, as the cold temperatures sneak in and make it feel even more like Christmas. As a result, there's no doubt my trips to Starbucks will become more frequent and my shopping outings more festive.
This time of year is also exciting because we fortunately get to attend holiday parties, shop, cook, decorate and travel, which makes finding the time and energy to exercise and take care of ourselves more challenging. Add cold temperatures, rain and wind—a less than perfect combination—to the mix and outdoor exercise becomes much more adventurous. We'll need a determined “can-do” spirit.
With three weeks left in our Journey and the cold, jolly, sometimes frenzy-filled holiday season upon us, I found inspiration in an article sent to me by Monarch Linda Benge. It's about Tererai Trent, a women who lived in Zimbabwe and as a young girl and dreamed of an education in America—a PhD no less! Encouraged by her mother, Tereria wrote down her dreams and hid them under a rock. Despite being married off by her father at the age of 11, having four children by the age of eighteen, and being beaten by her husband, Tereria never lost sight of her dreams.
“Of all the people earning university degrees this year, perhaps the most remarkable story belongs to Tererai (pronounced TEH-reh-rye), a middle-aged woman who is one of my heroes. She is celebrating a personal triumph, but she’s also a monument to the aid organizations and individuals who helped her. When you hear that foreign-aid groups just squander money or build dependency, remember that by all odds Tererai should be an illiterate, battered cattle-herd in Zimbabwe and instead — ah, but I’m getting ahead of my story.”

Tererai's story is exactly what I needed to help me stay centered, grateful and focused. As you embark on our first real “wintery week” and enter the holiday season, I encourage you to use her as your inspiration too. Avoid filling your mind with thoughts of discouragement, second thoughts, or dwelling on you what you lack. Instead, believe in your goals and dreams that you've written down and set your intentions on ALL you have: Health, Abundance, Opportunity galore!!
This week's video is from Ophrah.com. Grab a Klennex and enjoy hearing and seeing Tererai's story in her own words—after a commercial from Oprah, of course...
