Journey X: Growing Your Garden

“What distinguishes what’s alive from what’s dead is growth, be it in plants or in you.” — Wayne W. Dyer

Tending a garden isn’t easy. It’s a miraculous and joyful experience that is all too often discouraging. You must invest your money, your time, your labor, and of course your patience. Achieving a healthy, holistic, and fulfilling life is no different from cultivating an abundant garden of fruits, plants, and vegetables. We:

  • Pull the weeds
  • Prepare our soil with rich nutrients
  • Plant our seeds
  • Tend with proper food, light, water, love
  • And wait
  • And tend
  • And wait
  • And, after much patience, harvest our rewards!

We are all given seeds to sow in our life’s garden, but when we struggle to tend or lose our patience, we invite illness or weakness into our garden, leaving ourselves frustrated and unable to reach our potential.

This Autumn, I invite you to invest in your life’s garden. As the leaves change, make yourself a priority. Plant seeds of physical nourishment for a healthy and strong body. Just as your body thrives from regular and challenging outdoor activities in the refreshing fall temperatures, your mind will expand, stimulated with positive, holistic thoughts and beliefs. Through personal encouragement from Neissa and other participants, you will harvest a renewed spirit and energy, heightening the joy and gratitude of fall festivities with your life’s garden in full bloom.
