General Questions
- Is iGnite a “boot camp”?
- No. iGnite is an outdoor fitness program. We focus on physical, mental, and spiritual wellness, with the emphasis on education, empowerment and fun.
- Is this a running group?
- No. Running is neither required, but there will be opportunities during each class meeting to run or power walk. Interested iGnite students are also invited to participate in local races (typically for charity) as the “iGnite Monarchs”.
- What fitness level do I need to have to be part of iGnite?
- iGnite requires a moderate level of fitness to participate. You need to be able to jog or walk briskly at least a mile without hesitation. In addition, a basic understanding of exercise is required. If you’ve never exercised before, consult with your doctor and start an introductory program until your comfortable with the basics. Then come join us!
- What types of exercises does iGnite teach?
- An iGnite Journey is truly a cross training experience with emphasis on: strength training, balance, flexibility, calisthenics, cardiovascular training, plyometrics, yoga, Pilates, swimming and water training.
- How long is each Journey?
- There are three Journey’s throughout the year: Fall (Sept – Dec); Spring (Jan- May); Summer (June-July).
Enrollment Questions
- How do I enroll?
- Enrollment starts by contacting Neissa. She will answer any additional questions you may have and get you enrolled, equipped, and ready for your iGnite Journey! See the join us page for specific information on the next Journey.
- Do I need to commit to one class time?
- No. You are more than welcome to attend iGnite during the class times that best fit your schedule, however for planning purposes we do ask that you tell us your preferred class days and times.
- Can I bring my payment to the first class?
- No. In order to secure your space in the Journey, contact us and make the first payment by the first due date via mail or PayPal subscription. Contact Neissa for her mailing address if you need to mail a check. If this is not possible, please let us know about your special needs to ensure your spot is not lost.
- Is there a maximum number of participants in each Journey?
- Yes. Classes are kept small to allow for safe and individual attention and for the group to get to know each other. Small classes mean that if you want to participate in a Journey, it is important that you contact Neissa promptly when registration opens to secure your spot.
- Do I have to purchase any special equipment?
- Yes. To ensure a consistent experience, all students are required to have a basic set of equipment.
Participation Questions
- What is expected of me as an iGnite student?
- Each class, perhaps only a group of eager strangers at first, quickly becomes a close-knit group, working together and encouraging each other. Help yourself and them by putting forth your best effort, bringing your best attitude, being on time, and allowing yourself to step outside of your mind, body, and spirit comfort zones. Be there for them and they will be there for you.
- How will I know where class meets?
- Meeting locations will vary during the Journey. The class schedule will always have the current locations. Make sure Neissa has your up-to-date contact information. Neissa is always in contact via email ahead of the classes to ensure everyone meets at the right place in the event the weather forces us inside.
- What do I need to bring with me?
- Always bring your iGnite equipment (which you’ll receive when you start your first Journey) along with your favorite yoga mat, pair of three and five pound dumb bells, a towel, and water.
- What should I wear?
- Always wear comfortable workout clothes and supportive athletic shoes. Good shoes are very important for your safety and comfort. Neissa suggests visiting the folks at Caravelle Shoes or Run Tex, should you need assistance in choosing the right shoe for you.
- What is the best way to contact Neissa?
